COMMON QUESTIONS

>>>WHAT DO YOU WORK WITH?<<<
I don’t understand HOW you can help me make these changes. What do you do that is different to what everybody else does?

If you knew that you’d just go and do it yourself wouldn’t you? I have studied for many years to understand how to do all these things – It is my personal area of expertise and i'm sure you must have yours. If what I do was common knowledge I wouldn’t get paid for doing it.
All behaviours and emotions and ways-of-being are unconsciously installed programs – that’s why you do them automatically. The best metaphor I can use to describe what I do is like ‘taking an old vinyl record and scratching it back and forth over and over. It won't be able to play the same way again.
Do you work with smoking cessation?
in 2009 I have decided to stop working with quitting smoking [and weight loss]. Both of these areas are common with hypnotherapists. Any hypnotherapist with basic skills will be able to simply and successfully assist you with these concerns. The truth is, both of these "problems" bore me and as I clearly stated earlier, I like to have fun when I work with people. I am focussing 2009 to working purely with things that I enjoy figuring out. There is no other boundry on what that may be. Every person is unique and so are their problems. Any hypnotherapist who works with smoking or weightloss quickly realises that it rapidly becomes 99% of their business and that kind of repetitiveness is just not for me regardless of how much money I could earn doing it.
Do you work with weight loss / eating-addiction?
Again, as above. I love to meet new people and have fun when I work, and this kind of thing is too boringly repetitive for me. As a person trained in hypnosis, weightloss and smoking can quickly become 99% of your business. I'm happy to leave that for everyone else and i'll work with the other problems people have. Read above [Do you work with smoking cessation].
I've searched through a lot of websites and they all are very serious. It appears to me like you don't take your position seriously. Why would anyone come to see you when they have serious problems that are not laughing matters?

Good call. The real truth of the matter is I do take this exceptionally seriously, however most people have been way too serious about their problems for too long and it has not helped solve it, or even come to a resolution of any kind. Most intelligent people would recognize that as not working. My policy is: If what you are doing is not working - do something else, anything else. If being serious hasn't worked up until now, to keep being serious will keep yielding the same result. Plus, if I have to work and I can guarantee you your result regardless of if I am serious or we are having a laugh, wouldn't you prefer to enjoy yourself while you got this stuff sorted out?
How can one type of therapy fix almost everything? – If it did, everyone would do it.
Actually NLP is by far the fastest expanding therapy model in the world. And it is so, because of how fast the results are. In saying that, I do have an extensively broad range of knowledge from a range of different fields.NLP is very new in comparison to something like psychology which has been around for thousands of years. If you consider that NLP has only been in existence for about 30 years, then understand that it wasn’t really being taught on any large world-wide scale for another 15 years or so after that, then in the last little time Australia tends to take longer to get these types of technologies due to being so far from America and Europe.

Why do we have problems?
Essentially most problems - especially behaviourall problems, are all the same thing. CONSCIOUSLY you know what you want to do, be doing, or at the very least know what you want to stop doing, but from somewhere deep inside you (your unconscious / subconscious) you keep doing the same things. You are going in 2 different directions at the same time. You know what you want but you keep doing something else. This happens because the unconscious and conscious minds are out of alignment. The unconscious is not 'hearing' what the conscious is telling it to do. NLP / Time based therapy / EMDR / hypnosis are all designed to create that re-alignment. And when that happens, the unconscious mind will ALWAYS choose to take the better way of being. It may seem hard to beleive for a lot of people, but your own mind is designed to support you - so when it re-aligns and the unconscious mind gets what you consciously want, it will take the new path.
Isn’t this just loud-mouth American stuff like Tony Robbins? (the guy who tries to tell everyone how to live because it worked for him)

No. (and yes). Anthony Robbins is a dynamic force in the self-improvement arena. He is famous for taking NLP to a world-wide audience. Anthony Robbins did start with NLP and he became very very famous due to being able to change anyone’s problems in an instant. (that kind of change magic is what NLP is all about) However, as the years went on Anthony Robbins went on his own angle and started to include ALOT of motivational hype-up and success-principle coaching. He also took a belief that if you can get someone to face a fear, they’ll feel like they can do anything (Anthony Robbins’ Fire-walk courses). This kind of thing is NOT really NLP – Yes, it does change a person’s beliefs about themselves, their confidence and their abilities – but a lot of people do not generalize like that. Most people's brains' do NOT say "I just walked over fire therefore I can do anything!" - Most people's brains' say "Wow, I faced my fear and walked over fire, but what has this got to do with my relationship problems?" so this does not work for everyone. Anthony Robbins makes hundreds of millions of dollars each year because of peoples’ addiction to being given that ‘motivational hype-up’ boost. In saying this, it is a VERY COMMON mis-belief [by Australians’ and kiwi’s generally] that what Anthony Robbins does is ‘teach people how to live’ – this is absolutely NOT what he does. He [and all good therapists] are more than well-aware that every person is totally different with different circumstances. What he does is teach people how their brains work, how to create feelings and how to remove bad feelings, how to change behaviors and how to use your own brain to move in directions you want to go. This gives you absolute knowledge of who you are and why you do certain things. As well as how to take control the way you do things so you can get the results you want in any area of your life. It has NOTHING to do with telling someone how they should live at all. It's not even related. One is saying “this worked for me, so you should do it too”, the other is saying “This is how science tells us your brain and thoughts work – now go do what you want with this information”.
I don’t believe in this stuff.
Then why are you reading my website?
Isn't this just all in your mind?
Yep. It certainly is.
